Golf Course

Finally opened 18 holes of pure emotion!

The Royal Golf La Bagnaia Course is the first Tuscan, 18 holes designed by renowned architect Robert Trent Jones, Jr.

It is a Par 71, which is 6,101 metres long, covering an area of 1300 hectares, perfectly harmonized within the gently rolling hills of Siena.

The Tuscan landscape is a typical example of Inland Links, which refer to the Scottish Highlands with the “Rough” that waves in the wind.

The course is enhanced by beautiful lakes and a majestic Club House, where you can enjoy a unique view on all 18 holes and the towers of Siena.

Playing on this course is made unique and exciting not just thanks to the mastery of Trent Jones, but also to the incredible views across nature and the medieval city of Siena that are available from every hole.

Hole 1

A delicate hole to start the course, where it is best to hit the first shot just before the bunker on the right to have a 7 iron to the green. If you hit the driver, you need to pass the left bunker at 242 meters to then have a Sw to the green.

Hole 2

It is really important to choose the correct iron for the pin position to avoid the though slope of the green.

Hole 3

In this hole, you need to aim at the bunker in the center of the fairway at 276 meters to then try to hit the green with the second shot. It is better to stay on the right side on the fairway for the second shot to avoid the water hazard on the left.

Hole 4

Uphill hole, where you need a good driver on the right side of the fairway to have a better view of the green. The green has a strong slope on the left so you want to hit a shot on the right side of the green.

Hole 5

In this par 3 the hazard is on the right side, so it is better to stay on the left side, where if you miss the green there is an apron where it is easier to recover.

Hole 6

Different strategies are possible in this hole. It is suitable to hit a shot before the bunker on the left side, but for long hitters is possible to get over the bunker on the right which is 245 meters to carry. The green has a strong slope, and it is recommended to not miss on the right side of the green.

Hole 7

This hole is often affected by the wind condition. It is recommended to hit the driver in front of the second bunker of the fairway. The second shot must be safe on the right side of the fairway to avoid the water on the left and to have a better view of the green. The green is small with though slope to read.

Hole 8

Play the first shot on the right side of the fairway to have better view of the green, which is really small and challenge the players to hit a perfect second shot.

Hole 9

It is recommended to hit the driver in front of the many bunkers on the left side. The second shot is blind, so it is important to get right distance to the flag.

Hole 10

Difficult hole to start the back nine. The first shot must be on the right side, where the slope of the fairway will help players. The second shot is affected by the position of the flag.

Hole 11

Another hole that can have multiple faces due to the position of the flag. Don’t miss on the left to avoid the water hazard.

Hole 12

Uphill hole where it is important to avoid the bunkers on the left to reach the green with the second shot. The green is small and defended by two bunkers.

Hole 13

A beautiful par 5, with a big lake that lines from the fairway to the green. It is recommended to stay on the left side for both first and second shot.

Hole 14

Downhill par 3, where it is important to evaluate the force of the wind and the distance to use the correct iron.

Hole 15

Dog-leg from right to left, uphill in the second part. It is better to hit a shot in front of the bunker on the left side to have a shorter club to the green.

Hole 16

Hit the driver in front of the second bunker on the left side of the fairway. The second shot is really difficult due to the small size of the green.

Hole 17

The  hazard on this hole is on the left side where there is a water hazard. Hit the shot on the right side of the green to use the slope of the green.

Hole 18

Hit the driver from the tee because this par 5 is long and uphill. Hit the second shot on the left side to avoid the 9 bunkers on the right side. Do not miss short of the green because there is a big depression from which is though to recover.
