Arezzo stands on a hill in eastern Tuscany close to the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. As evidenced by the architecture of the city, it boasts ancient origins. It was one of the largest Etruscan cities and also a strategic Roman city.

San Galgano

The ruins of San Galgano lie between fields of sunflowers. It is a haunted and special place.

All that remains of what was once the most majestic Gothic buildings in Italy, with the largest Cistercian ruins in Italy and symbol of the most important monastic power in Tuscany, now has only the sky as the roof and a grass field as the nave, while pieces of fresco lie between vegetation. This was the site of the hermitage of San Galgano and the life of the saint is shown in the chapel that Ambrogio Lorenzetti frescoed between 1334 and 1336.

Just in the circular chapel, with its strange striped time, there is a rock on which is a delayed sword.
