For the first time the Italian National Team conquered the title in the World Amateur Team Championship / Eisenhower Trophy triumphing over Sweden.

With an extraordinary performance, the team made up of Pietro Bovari, Filippo Celli and Marco Florioli won with 541 strokes (- 31)

The tournament was played on two courses, at Le Golf National (Albatross Course, par 71), in Guyancourt, and Golf de Saint-Nom-La-Brèteche (par 72), in the city from which this club takes its name, near Paris in France.

It is the first time that Italy has won this tournament, which was born in 1958 and now it was the 32nd edition.

In the final round, Italy finished with 133 (-9) shots (Bovari 68, -3, Florioli 65, -6, Celli 70, -1) and got the better of Sweden (542, -30), leader after three rounds, at the end of a long duel with the result always in the balance and which was decided only in the last two holes.

“It was a resounding success” declared the President of the Italian Golf Federation, Franco Chimenti.

We join in the words of President Chimenti and we congratulate the Italian team for the prestigious result!
